While this did not impact me directly, I'm wondering how it did for other sellers.
When a promoter changes the venue and Floor seats of a small club become upper decks of an arena, does a seller get hit with a penality?
If there is a venue change of any sort, we will fully review potential changes/issues that are caused by this. We'll check to see if tickets are valid for the new location, review for any seating/mapping change, etc. If such a drastic change is made, we will typically treat the event as canceled on our end and sellers will be able to relist their tickets if the event is placed back on StubHub.
By treating the event as canceled, a seller is not found at fault nor penalized for the change. The only charge a seller would potentially see is a recoupment charge of their payout if the tickets had been delivered to the buyer. A seller is welcome to reach back out to where they purchased the tickets from to see what additional options they have (getting new tickets or receiving a refund if offered).
For this show specifically, we are treating the show at the original venue as canceled and sellers were only charged for their payouts if tickets had been delivered. Sellers are welcome to reach back out to where they bought the tickets from to see what additional options they have.
We have posted the show back on site as well. Sellers who have tickets to the United Center are welcome to list their tickets again for a potential sale.
