Sold some tickets recently (totaling less than $600 - and haven't sold anything else this year) and I received an email stating that I "exceeded the $600 threshold for 2022" and needed to enter a TIN in order for my payments to go through. The whole thing seems like an error. The actual threshold (confirmed via phone with their rep) is $20,000, but again, I didn't even cross the $600 threshold mentioned in the email. Why am I getting an email in 2024 talking about 2022? Said rep was completely useless on the phone so I decided to wait this out to see if the payments actually do go through in a few days. I was just trying to get ahead of the issue since I got that email. I searched this issue on Google and it seems there was a similar post to this that was removed for some reason so I suspect I am not the only one having this issue. Would be curious to hear the outcome if anyone else that has encountered this.
