You lost me when you assumed Stubhub customer service would be able to employ common sense. More likely, it's one of two things... terrible backend operating systems that have no place being deployed by a multi-billion global industry leader or someone who is more important to Stubhub than you listed similar tickets. Even if the other tix were priced higher and were literally the same tickets in all respect (and both listings had the tickets already uploaded, etc.) Stubhub often shows clear and unwarranted favoritism to certain listings. Could be tix it is selling from its own inventory.
