I posted this question to the Facebook group but the response was a copy / paste and completely ignored my question. I'll post it here:
OK, here's the question. We know the IRS threshold for issuing 1099's is $2,500 this tax year 2025. And we know that if we have our money going to PayPal, then Stubhub won't issue a 1099 because PayPal will issue it.
Let's say I make $5,000 in sales. I have $3,000 go to PayPal (for which PayPal will issue a 1099), and $2,000 goes directly into my bank account. My question is, will Stubhub issue a 1099 because my full income was over $2,500? Or will SH not issue one because only $2,000 was direct from Stubhub?
Second scenario, slightly different. I earn $6,000. I have $3,000 go to PayPal and $3,00 into my checking account. Will Stubhub issue a 1099 for $3,000 or $6,000?
Third question. Can I use more than one PayPal account for receiving payments?
Thanks.
This is just a guess. The sales are tied to a social security number and not to an acccount.
Scenario 1 - you would get a $3,000 from Paypal and $2,000 from Stubhub.
Scenario 2 - you get 3,000 1099s from Stubhub and paypal
Scenario 3 - if your overall sales are over $2,500 you would get 1099 for each account
Im not a tax expert but just offering best guess.
