Tickets not avail until day of show and I’m coming from out of state

Help me understand this. I purchased tickets for a show in May 2025. I’m coming from out of state and StubHub says my tickets will not be avail until the day of the show. I paid for certain seats also and not sure if I am even getting those. This seems to risky to plan hotels, etc on a ticket I won’t have until the day of.

I bought tickets in April for a show that was yesterday. 9/24. Tickets were supposed to be transferred to me day of show. Stubhub reached out to me early in the day as I had yet to receive tickets, assured me that they would contact the seller and find out when they would be transferred. Show was over an hour away so we drove to the show and still no tickets. Sat in a parking lot for on the phone with customer service as they attempted to call the seller. No luck and we did not get the tickets in time for the show. StubHub did refund us but the whole experience left a bad taste, and was a huge disappointment that we missed out. A co-worker had tickets to a concert out of town, they flew there for the event and same thing, no tickets and were refunded. Seems like too much of a risk if you ask me.

I’m nervous too about properly receiving our mobile tickets. Are you getting paper tickets or mobile? I’m too old at age 66 to deal with this stesss. I know it’s simply because I haven’t done it before so I’m calling my younger friends who do this often and hope I can get some tips from a friend or 2 which will ease my mind.
