How can Stub hub allow sellers to sell 1 night to a 2-day event?

I am interested in buying Metallica tickets. I only want night 2 of 2-day event. Ticketmaster still has regular tickets available, but sells them as a 2-day ticket. It specifically says you cannot split the ticket per day. Stub hub allows people to buy/sell for 1st night, second night, or both nights. How is this possible if Ticketmaster will not let them split the ticket? I want night 2 and I’m afraid whoever uses the ticket night 1 will void my ticket. My son would be super upset if this happened and we couldn’t go to the show.

For some multi day events the original buyer receives separate tickets for each day.  This would enable them to sell one of the days.  Not sure if that is the case here but you can try calling Ticketmaster and asking them.
