I purchased tickets to an NBA game on the side of the court. With only one hour before the game started, and despite multiple assurances from customer support, I did not receive the tickets I purchased.
With 45 minutes to the game starting and having missed the pre-game entertainment, I was emailed by StubHub informing me they couldn't contact the seller of the tickets and therefore couldn't sell them to me. They offered me alternate tickets or a full refund.
Whilst that sounds like a good option, there were multiple problems. 1. The tickets they offered were worst in terms of view and position in the stadium. 2. If I took a full refund, I would have to pay more to buy similar tickets to what I originally purchased through StubHub. 3. I had 30 minutes by this point and the alternate ticket options were disappearing as I presume other people scammed by StubHub started to take them up.
If you're thinking of using StubHub - don't! They either don't have a system capable of holding third party sellers accountable or they don't care.
I got told no when I asked if I could escalate it with customer service.
