Cancelled sale

Never had this happen before in over a decade of selling…

Last night at 6pm PST, I sold a ticket for a concert at 8pm PST.

Instead of the normal email saying “your ticket was sold”, my email said “we found a buyer for your ticket and are investigating the buyer. This should be resolved within 24 hours”… ok? Not my problem but sure.

Stubhub removed my listing and moved the ticket to my pending sales tab

After the concert started last night I got a follow up email from Stubhub saying they cancelled the sale due to an issue with the buyer but are relisting my ticket.

At this point, I obviously couldn’t sell the ticket, nor leave to attend the concert so I just lost all my money.

I called customer service who said they couldn’t do anything and that the buyer gave them bad bank info. I asked for a supervisor who said the same thing and then hung up on me.

Has anyone had this happen? Would love to hear another experience before contacting the AG

I've had sales canceled for this reason, however it wasn't that close to the start of the event.  You are not going to get Stubhub to do anything for you.  Good luck with the AG, I doubt they'll be interested enough to create a case.

Yes I had this exact problem about two weeks ago. I reached customer service an told them that this situation should never arise: that if they receive a payment that can't be approved immediately they should just cancel the sale and keep the tickets listed. The rep tried to give me the runaround, but I insisted they escalate the issue to their superiors, to prevent this scenario in the future. Whether it will ever be addressed I have no idea. Ever since Viagogo acquired SH from Bay customer service has gone downhill.

yes this happened to me as well. no soultion was done by the time they "relisted my tickets" the baseball game was over.. i lost 5k
